My new home for the Blue Velvets we're gonna pick up.

Setup:
Fluval Flora 7.9G
Fluval 105 Canister Filter
Fluval Edge 25W Compact Heater

I cycled the tank with media from my other 2 tanks.

Added about 4 pounds of fluval stratum and 2 lbs of Fluval Shrimp Stratum.
I like the smaller granule size for planting so I put it down as a top coat.

Fauna:
2 Otos (Otocinclus macrospilus)
1 Horned Nerite Snail (Clithon flavovirens)

Flora:
Pogostemon helferi (Dao Noi / Little Star)
Eleocharis parvula (Dwarf Hairgrass)
Corkscrew Val (Vallisneria americana var. biwaensis)

Misc:
Small root wood
Small chunk Fossilized Wood

Now just to let the plants grow out and add shrimp.
I may add a Anubias nana var. 'Petite' to the wood later when I can find some.

I may also mout some java moss on a piece of black plastic mesh, cut to fit the yellowish indents in the 3D backgrounds.

Wow I haven't updated this one in a long time.

Well the Pogostemon helferi (Dao Noi / Little Star) was all rehomed to the Yellow Shrimp tank (and apparently it all melted while I was away).
The Corkscrew Val (Vallisneria americana var. biwaensis) was rehomed to my 50G community.
The Fossilized Wood came out long ago as well, and went to the Green Shrimp tank.
Some java moss was added and has taken over most of the tank since I've been away.
And the blue velvet population has exploded along with some pest snails (likely over feeding).

And today I got started with some macro photography

Thanks just getting started with macro, my biggest issue is trying to deal with the limited depth of field at that short of a focal length.

That's weird that one thrived and the other didn't, them being the same species and all. Must be something different about the tanks.

Although I had similiar issue with me Yellows. My problem there was I only had 1 Females to 3 Males. She berried once, but the offspring didn't have a great survival rate. She berried a second time and died. One of the offspring was female, so now I have 1 Female to 5 Males. She's got a saddle now, and I'm hoping to get some offspring but I'm gonna need to get some more to increase my gene pool.

Most of them, at least the initial stocks, came from Shrimp Fever.

Tommy is Great to deal with, he has a forum account here as well.
