just thinking maybe we would have better success if this section was for predators instead of monsters. monster sounds like a fish with a hockey mask and big knife. what do you all think?

Ha, i didnt even know they had created a monster section, that's new! I've always used oddball other.

Considering the size of the site/community in this area i dont know if it's needed though. I think salt - fresh -brackish is probably enough of a breakdown. Expanding to more divisions is only beneficial if there are so many new posts that it needs division to navigate it.

Too many sections just leads to empty areas while combining them encourages/forces people to explore new fish & topics and hopefully learn something new since the post about one species and another are right on top of each other. To be honest i almost never navigate since the "whats new" covers everything lol

sorry convict not trying to be demanding, lol. i jjust think alot of people would rather think of there fish as predators then monsters, if you only look at last 24 hrs your missing most of the site, most of the best threads for me are a couple years old, of course you guys are more here to help others and im more digging around for info

As I understand it, Monster refers to a size category, whereas Predator refers to diet. You can have herbivorous/omnivorous monsters (severums are popular omnivores who like lots of plant material) and very small predators (Amazon Leaf Fish top out at around 3 inches, and they are not even the smallest, just the first to pop to mind), so I am not sure the switch in titles would produce the effect you are looking for. I understand that a lot of "Monster" fish are predators, but I can't see this reducing confusion if changed.

Updated the name for you fussy folks... lol

Clarification, predators: fish or other sea creatures who feed on other live animals.
Monsters: hideous creatures that carriej seems to breed in her tanks...not kidding, we're talking horror movie creatures... :)
