    August Social

The August Social will be in Miramichi, New Brunswick for the first time ever!

CarrieJ has offered to host a BBQ at her home for ECAS and its members!
    Date: August 19th
    Time: 1-3 pm

Location: 223 Delano Ave. Miramichi, NB

While this location is certainly out of the way for most, we have to remember that we are the only club that covers all of Atlantic Canada! So we have to try and share the love every where.

Stay tuned for upcoming socials in Moncton and the HRM in the coming months if you can't make it to this one!

Door prize for this social will be a full 1 year subscription to CORAL magazine. I will be bringing all 6 issues (brand new, never opened/still in packaging) to the social with me!

This door prize i thought may be fitting since carrie seams to like the idea of turning her new 130gal tank into a Reef!

This door prize was graciously provided by Maritime Reef!

    Great!

A few people are trying to come - hopefully it will be a semi good turn out.

I feel the need to mention that while I joke about living in the woods - I do not live in the woods! I live right in the heart of the city of Miramichi in downtown Newcastle. I am approx 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Moncton City Hospital (I make this drive a lot.. LOL).

    Map!

    https://maps.google.com/maps?q=223+d...5,+Canada&z=17

The location is a little off (the symbol) but there's like 6 houses on this street. I am very easy to find. I am assuming most of you will be on the king george highway, and Delano ave is right off the king george... Easy peasy.

Moncton should just take a car or two up for the Social. Car pooling would be alot cheaper and this social is must closer than the last one!

The more people we can get out from the Moncton area, the more likelyhood of having more in this area ... HINT HINT WINK WINK ;)

Car pooling is definitely the way to go. I dunno if there would be enough people in Freddy to do that or not.

Worst case you drive up to Moncton by yourself and keep going with people from Moncton/Dieppe perhaps?

Right now we have approx 7 semi-confirmed people! (including myself!) so it might be a real good turnout! A lot of people have also shown interest but need to wait for work schedules, etc...

A few days before I'll start bugging everyone to confirm so I know how much food to buy/cook.. lol

Might be able to make it Carrie! Would be a good opportunity to take the motorcycle up via the 126 or another back road (weather pending of course) Anyone else interested in joining that has a motorcycle? Not sure how much longer it would be to take the back roads, any idea Carrie??

The 126 is the way I always go. Through rogersville.. Thats the way that takes me 1 hr and 15 minutes. Be careful on that highway though.. Lots of MOOSEY ON THE LOOSEY! and deer. and porcupines. and other unidentified wild life!

Count us in...My leave starts August 18, and I am slightly embarrassed to say that after 20 years in NB we have never been to the Miramichi. We have only been members for a short time but really look forward to meeting some of you.

    What can we bring?

Mike D, don't feel obligated to bring anything! I'm going to be picking up some simple stuff (hotdogs, hamburgers) and I might make a salad or two,and I'll pick up some stuff to drink. I think I have disposable plates and stuff here.

And yes Tom, drag whoever you can down.. LOL

Its a van, but some of the seats are out since I am moving a tank on Aug 15th and again on August 25th.
    Some seats are in storage.
