Mixed results with the repashy. They dont seem to be big fans of it, but its always gone when i come back later. I noticed today the female is looking a bit swollen around the abdomen, fingers crossed. Took a few new pics too.

Its been a while since ive updated this thread... Nothing new to report on the breeding side except that they seem to be getting along better than before. That, and i swapped them out of the 75 and into a 125g setup.

They seem pretty happy, and calm now that they are back in the water. I got quite a shower lifting them out of the tank to move them...

Thanks guys. These two have changed color a couple times since i got them. At first they were stereotypical jag colors, he looked like he does now and she had the vertical bars. Then she went almost totally black, eyes and all, shortly after i got them and he got quite a bit darker. Now its hard for me to tell them apart sometimes, she has caught up to him in size, and at the moment their color patterns are almost identical...

They are definitely eating way more now than they ever have since ive had them. Twice a day theyre wagging at the glass like a couple puppies looking for treats, and gobble down whatever i give them... Might be the big new tank, might be the dose of prazi they got recently... Theyre way more active and happy looking now, and dont seem to be squabbling as bad any more. Theyre still territorial of course, but they havent caused any damage to each other since theyve been in the 125...

Almost forgot i uploaded a video...

Ya theyre much better in their 125. They picked on each other quite a bit in the 75, they must have been outgrowing it. Id say theyre around 9" or so now, they were a pretty full load in a 10" net ha ha. Theyve gotta be growing faster now, theyre eating i bet 3x more food as before the move (and prazi).

I dont think they were very happy when i first got them, it was night and day compared to now... Before, there was almost always some damage on at least one of them. Now they just flare at each other, and play "chicken" quite a bit, but it seems to be all for show now instead of actual aggression. Progress i guess...

Sooo... Been a while since an update. Ive been kinda bummed out lately because it has become more apparent that i have two male jags instead of a male and a female. They both look practically identical now, and i can only tell them apart because one is obviously the dominant fish. They beat each other up pretty good a couple weeks ago, and the big guy had a nasty scratch across one eye (which has since healed). Bit of a sausage fest in there apparently...

Yesterday i happened across an 8" female jaguar on a local fish page on facebook right out of the blue. I got ahold of the guy and we struck a deal, i now have this pretty girl floating around in my 55g tank:

I have a guy in mind who said hed take my extra male if i wanted to part with him, so ill probably go that route. I know hed be a great keeper for him. Gonna watch her in the qt for a bit and when all looks good, pull the ol switcheroo... Bow chicka wow...

Yep, im learning. The "female" i got at first looked to be female judging by colors, but now hes changed colors and caught up to the other male in size. This new female has the classic female jag colors, as well as a definite difference in their undercarriage. Its quite obvious once you have one of each to compare, but i didnt know what i was looking for before.

Made the swap last night and everything looks good so far. I took out the subdominant male and put the female in with the big guy, and looks like love at first sight lol. Eddie said she was eager and i believe him... She picked on him more than the other way around...
