Are you now running seperate tanks? If it's in a community setting keep in mind that mbuna commonly and regularly cross breed. So watch the fry you may find your producing at lease some hybrids and not pure breeds.

IMO their is Nothing wrong with that but u should inform buyers because spoting a hybrid vs a pure can be tough depending in the species involved so bloodlines/species can get quite muddied up if people arnt warned about hybrids.

A id like to start off by saying I got about 10-15 afra fry from my female afra and I noticed the other day my male sunshine and my female ob peacock breeding and the female looks like she's got a lot in her mouth was thinking to strip her cause im not a fan of hybrid but then I thought that would be cool to have one that looks like a sunshine peacock but have blotches like a ob so I'm gonna let her have them and maybe if anyone wants some when ready they can come pick some up free

I say go for it , all OB peacocks are hybrids to begin with so why not make another variety .

The results might not come out as your expecting though, it will probably take a few generations of selective breeding to achieve a yellow fish with the OB pattern.

Grats :) You will soon need another big tank just to hold all the fry!
