    80g salt water maybe

    i have a chance of getting a full set up fish and all but i have a water softener but can get strait from the well what is the best way to go with out r/o until i can get one

    I just used well water with a water softener for quite a while before I got my RO/DI unit. They seem fine to me. Mind you that was fish only. I can't say for any corals you might have.

    buy your water at Superstore or Sobeys.....until you get a RO unit, well water will likely cause issues with algae. a 5 gallon refill is only $2.99, which can usually look after a water change a week or so.

    Everyone's well water is different, all depends on your particular parameters.

    As far as paying for water goes. Its cheaper just to buy the RO unit.

    I use a Costco RO unit and my corals are fine.
