    Discus ménage a trois

I have a pair of discus that lay eggs every week or two and another female that has been laying eggs on her own, until yesterday. The single female layed her eggs on the glass, then the other female layed her eggs right in the same place with the male fertilizing them. So now the male and both females are protecting the eggs from the other fish in the tank. The unfertilized eggs from the single female are turning opaque. Unfortunately the eggs will be eaten by tomorrow if the past is any indication.

I had a similar situation but with 2 males fighting over who was going to fertilize the females eggs. It was fun to watch the battle, but the losing male got the last laugh... he ate all of the eggs. :)
