    Activated Carbon (AC) filters

Do you still use Activated Carbon (AC) filters? It's seems that this filter system isn't as popular anymore for aquariums set ups?

I use filters that have carbon inserts, but don't worry about the carbon part. And in my canisters, I don't use carbon either.

Nope , the costs outweigh the benifits unless there is some sort of specific need such as removing medications or chemical treatments from the water.

Same here, mechanical and biological filtration are my focus. I don't put carbon in any of my filters unless I have to remove meds. Carbon effects do not last long anyway, why bother. Wherever there is a place for carbon in my filters I put bio media instead! Much more useful.
