    Update on my Tanks

    Hey Everyone,
So I have downsized a bit on the number of tanks, but not the overall volume.
I have shut down 3 tanks and sold off two of them. I have two tanks in storage for now until I decide what to do (75 and a 15).

Anyway, so I have just my 180G running seen below

    And my 125G seen below

I will eventually be picking up some more fish for both tanks. Not 100% sure what I will be going with as of yet.

I'm planning for some more cardinals in the 125. And thinking about another oscar for the 180, but I would like to grow one out I believe.

So some new fish have arrived

I ordered some plants from spencer and tried trying them to the driftwood. Let's see how long they last with the severum and balas.

You may notice a little oscar in this picture and bala with the severum. I got two balas from 1 fish 2 fish and hoping he can get in some more. And the oscar went through a lot. I wasn't sure if he was going to make it or not. I added him to the 180G. The big severum and oscar as well as the balas all ignored him pretty much. The bichir (who keep in mind was living with malawi cichlids before I got him and there were tons of fry) really liked him. The girlfriend was screaming to me one night that its eating him (she had a very extra words in there too). Anyway, the bichir released him and the oscar went to the growout tank. Seems fine, but hates me. Anytime I come near the tank he swims away. Hopefully the changes.

I got an itty bitty red spotted gold severum. Very friendly. Can't wait until he/she is larger.

Full tank shot for reference of how small the severum is. That's a 75G.

I ordered two small rhino plecos- once again, can't wait until they are larger.

I also picked up 100 more cardinals making the total around 120ish.

So very happy with what I got from spencer and like normal, not a single DOA.

I was wondering how the severum was doing.Your red spotted severum should soon get it's spots. We ordered at the same time and mine has had them for about 2 weeks now.I find that freeze dried black worms are helping with growth and are growing well on it.Thanks for sharing.

The little red spotted gold severum got added to my 180G finally. I came home from work yesterday and found the tank shut off. Guessing one of the cats turned off the power bar. So we ran into some ammonia and nitrite. Things seem fine now.

All 4 of the red spotted severums that I ordered in at the same time are all females and all laid eggs.I sold two and I'm looking for a male.

Do you know if yours are M or F.You really can't tell by their finnage;some of the females have long fins and look male.I thought some were males at first until they laid and saw the tubes.Maybe the only way other than seeing their breeding tube is to look for the snakeskin pattern under the eye near the mouth;mine do not have that.

Looks to me like some female red spotted severums have those long fins just like the males. Two of mine had long fins and laid eggs.I was disappointed when I saw eggs coming from both.
