New to NS and bringing my reef!

    Hey folks!
Born and raised Ontarian here. Just bought a home in NS about 45mins from Halifax. I'm long-time reefkeeper and plan to bring my corals and system along with me. I keep everything from high end SPS, Zoas, and Mushrooms, to softies and clams.

I was poking around looking for a local Facebook page or classifieds for coral frags and equipment in NS but can't seem to find anything. Also noticed the saltwater section of this forum is pretty bare. Safe to assume there is almost no reefkeeping hobbyists in NS?

I saw the two aquarium stores in Halifax and Dartmouth. They look to have some reef supplies and fish/corals, but I thought for sure there would be more action on a hobbyist level than I've found so far.

Thanks and looking forward to reading some reaponses!

    Thanks! :)

I also have a 265 freshwater system, but I don't think I will be hauling that sucker out east with me. I will set up a new system, hopefully bigger, once I get out there.

Tanks are quite pricey out here compared to Ontario. You may want to bring it with you haha.

Welcome to ECAS and soon enough, the Maritimes! I do believe there are many salt water folk in Nova Scotia. I would also check out arrgroup.ca, that forum is dedicated to salt water!
