Fish Store Crawl Saturday March 21st.

Hi Everyone.

Any PEI fish keepers that are interested, we will be doing a Fish Store Crawl tomorrow, Saturday March 21st.  This is kind of like a pub crawl but with fish instead of beer.

We will all meet at Critters in the Confederation Court Mall.  They have some great fish you don't see everyday including 4 or 5 salt water tanks.  Maybe we can get them to feed the octopus while we are there.

Then off to Walmart for a bit to see some of the new stock that came in yesterday.  Hard to pass up some of those rollback prices on fish.  We are lucky to still have stock coming into our Walmart as many stores have already stopped ordering in new fish.  Thanks to Paulette and some of the other staff we still have new items coming in every week. Lets show our support while this is still available to us, it won't be for long.

Then we will head up the hill to bug the mulm out of Curtis and the gang at Pets Unlimited.  At least till they kick us out.  Curtis has some great things going on there as well.  Lets see if he can catch the other Kuhli Loachs for me that have been hiding in their show tank.  No pressure Curtis, but we will all be watching your technique.  can he do it?

So if you are interested in learning a bunch, maybe meeting some new friends, or have some questions about ECAS come on out and join us.  I will have the meeting time posted here later today once I talk to a couple others.

Stay tuned, we will have some fun.

If you don't feed them, you don't have to change the water tongue  25, 10 and 5 Gallon community tanks, 2 Betta's in jars. One more tank to set up.

Re: Fish Store Crawl Saturday March 21st.

Marty clean tonight and then tomorrow afternoon.  Its only a couple hours in the morning, it will be fun.

What are you cleaning anyway?  If its tanks we could all go there after and get it done in 20 minutes if there are enough of us. lol

Maybe we will go by the mall where Mike is putting up siding to torment him about all the cool stuff we bought.

Come on people.

Oh well, we will get you out next time.

feel free Gary. I moved innto my first apartment. I've come to terms with the fact that I can't afford anything anymore so close to the rent being due so I won't feel bad smile

Hey Mike I know exactly what you mean.  But boy if we had the money could we ever have fun spending it.  new paint ball guns, salt water tanks, new model helicopter, fancy tank lighting, more exotic fish I can't pronounce the names of. lol

Man we just have to many hobbies/additions.

Re: Fish Store Crawl Saturday March 21st.

Ok PEI fish people.  I just found out that Curtis is not going to be at work till 1:00 so we should plan to stop and have lunch together some where after we leave Walmart around noon.

I know one of those nice off Island people mentioned that we would get a better turn out if we included beer like a real pub crawl.  Well A&W is close by and I hear their Root Beer is very good.  wink

Any way were open to suggestions for a place to stop for a bite if you are interested and if we do Curtis may meet us for lunch before we go to PU.

That sounds great Matthew, awfully nice of you to offer us a tour.  We will make a decision tomorrow while we are at Critters depending on how many of us show up and what everyone's time frame is.  I for one would would love the slight detour and a chance to see your tanks.  This will make for a great Saturday morning.

Re: Fish Store Crawl Saturday March 21st.

Well I just got back from are Fish Crawl, an man did we have a good time.

I have 4 bags with new critters sitting in tanks getting ready to be released into their new homes.

We had five people come out and make the rounds with us.  We stopped to get some beer for lunch ( Root Beer ) and even got a tour of Matthews 3 tanks,  thanks Matthew.

All in all I would say one very successful day. tongue

Re: Fish Store Crawl Saturday March 21st.

Hi Bottom Feeder, hahaha you picked a heck of a name Trisha.

Yes Saturday was fun, glad you came along.

So Matthew I have been working none stop since I got home on Saturday.

1st thing was put your 3 Pictus in with the other two in the 15 gallon, boy did it ever get crowded quick. wink

Then the Corys and the Clown Squeaker in the 20,  the guppies in the Aquasphere and then panick to set up the 90 liter.  Let it run till Sunday to get the temp set then started moving fish, plants and decor from one tank to another.

Made another trip to the fish stores today and picked up more guppies and 5 more red eyed tetras.

So the 90 litre is up and running with 5 pictus, 10 red eyed tetras , 5 neon rosy barbs and 3 featherfin cats and everyone is happily swimming around.  Now its up to me to make sure the readings do not go off the scale.

I have the canopies off all of the tanks and took them to work tonight to paint the inside of the hoods to help reflect the light better.  The 5 gallon one one did not like the paint so I used chrome trim tape we use for the model planes as a reflector and it worked quite well.  I might do that to all of them now instead of the paint.  So hopefully by tomorrow night I will have all the hoods done.  Then I can take pictures of all the new set-ups and show you how the pictus are doing.

Thanks allot again.
