East Coast Aquarium Society / ECAS social in Moncton, Sunday, Dec. 13th, 1pm

I hope that Sunday, Dec. 13th will work for most that would like a Social. I figured setting a date would be a good idea as last time it took us a couple of months before we had a set date. Plus it will give me an extra week to make some more changes and move things around.

I will also be doing an order before the Social as well and will post the lists.

If anyone has any ideas for a DIY or a speaker, let us know so we can make arrangements to set up for either or.

Any suggestions are more than welcomed.

Location - GetFish Aquarium

Address - 967 Mountain Road, Moncton (White house located on the corner of Mountain Road and Katherine Ave.)

Time - 1pm - I close at 6pm

Here is what I'm thinking for prizes with X-mas being around the corner

top prize - Double your Bucks ie. ( spend 50$ get another 50$ worth to pick out stuff)

2nd - 15% off your purchases

3rd - buy 2 plants get 3 free

Also -- Will there be membership forms? I filled one out but won't bother sending in a cheque now if I can just pay there if someone will be there to collect these things.

If anyone that is going to the social has a good working heater for a 33 gal tank, mathew123 will be at the meeting and can bring back for me. I cannot go to the social because my kids Christmas party is that day here in Charlottetown. Thanks!!

Looks like we are going to have a decent turn-out. I'm also receiving an order on Saturday with lots of the usual, and of course some great oddballs and rareties. My favourite coming in is a pair of 7" Peacock Bass. These bad boys should eat me out of house and home.

You better seal your foundation and just fill the whole basement with water.

Do you not know those things grow huge and are supposed to be caught on the end of a fishing pole not a dip net.

I will bring my fishing gear over once they get a bit bigger.

I can't wait to see them.

I'll be picking up the order between 1:30 and 2:00pm. If you're going to be here earlier than 1pm give me call so we can have the Knifefish acclimatised and into it's new home ASAP.

Gary, if this was my place I would have already made a mamoth aquarium on side the fish room is presently on. When I get my permanent place, you can bet that I will have one of the largest if not the largest aquarium in the Maritimes. P.S. Once they get bigger, I may let you try to catch the Peacock Bass with a barbless hook. I may even try it myself, they supposedly put on a better fight than a bass. That I would love to experience.

Chad definitely had an Awesome Deal on the ABN's..... The boyz from PEI struck gold on that one. Gary walked out with a pretty sweet deal as well. He won the double your bucks prize and walked out with a shipping cooler full of fish and shrimp. It was fun to chat with everyone about their tanks and fish. For the next social, we'll organize a DYI project. I'm thinking on how to take apart a tank and re-seal it.

Looking forward to the next social, and hopefully we can have more people from NB show up. We'll set a date for the end of January.

Hey sorry I missed the meet. Had full intentions of showing up but my sister was in town today from Quebec so I was visiting with her . Was a last minute thing she came down earlier then expected glad to hear it went well!

Those little Butterfly Suckers (hillstream loaches) are some popular. Half of what I ordered was already gone by the end of the day on Sunday.

I would like to say a big thank you to Serge for hosting the social and offering such great door prizes.

I can't for the life of me understand why more people from NB didn't get off their butts and take a drive on such a great day to come out and meet some fellow fish keepers. With Moncton so close to Saint John and Fredericton I do not understand it. Three of us traveled from PEI to make a day of it and we had a great time.

It is always worth the trip to GetFish as Serge usually has stuff you just don't find at other locations.

I was able to get some great plant clippings from Dave and Chad had some awesome ABN fry as well.

Chad I don't know how we ended up with so many of your fry when we got home. I guess we owe you a few more bucks.

Thanks again again everyone for a awesome day.

Hope to get to the next one and would love to see some of you folks get over to one of ours.

Serge, thanks again. Sorry for running out the door when we did, but we had to get back home to gawk at our prizes (the other ones wanted to get to the PU night) I was just thrilled at the OB and ABN's.

That trap though, it seems useful, so i'm kinda looking forward to trying it out.
