Temperature & Lighting
Who is very experienced and knowledgeable in knowing what is the ideal temperature for african cichlids and how many hours the lights should be on each day...and the times that they should be on?
I know most people say 77c-80c for temperature, but I want experienced opinions, I have heard stories of no heaters being used and cichlids breeding like mad...I have heard 68c as well...
any opinions?

Re: Temperature & Lighting
76-81ish.
They don't need lighting other than ambient room lighting at all. I usually keep my light off during the day to avoid algae growth.
75 Gallon of Africans. (AC110, XP3, 2x40W 42" T8, 300W heater)
Flavus, Yellow Lab, RedxRed Zebra, O.B. Zebra, Red Top Ice Blue. Lots of fry and a few plecos.
